Jimmy Ebong
Jimmy Ebong is the Founder and Director of Palm Establishments Limited. He is a seasoned researcher, strategists, and a professional in development programming with experience in applied research and thought leadership, impact investment and private sector development. He has over 20 years of experience facilitating markets for agribusiness and financial services to be inclusive of vulnerable communities around Africa.
Most recently, Jimmy worked as a Research Specialist with Financial Sector Deepening Uganda (FSDU). He was responsible for managing FSDU’s strategy and research portfolio, which spanned various themes of developing markets for financial services. He has also in the past worked for Match Maker Group, an advisory and impact finance outfit based in Arusha, Tanzania, spearheading strategy on research in Private Sector Development (VCD), Agriculture Value Chain Development (VCD) and impact financing. He has accomplished over 40 short and long term assignment in 6 (six) African countries.
Jimmy is passionate about financial inclusion, impact investing, agribusiness development, and private sector development. He is an ardent advocate for the role that the private sector plays in enhancing access to finance and advisory services and thereby promulgating growth in national GDP. When MSMEs access finance and quality advisory services, they grow, and thereby, benefitting the millions of people who are linked to them. Enhancing inclusive growth is the aspirations of Palm Establishments Limited.
He is a business economist, holding a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), Master in Business Administration (MBA), Master of Arts in Economic Policy and Planning (MAEPP) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Social Sciences, majoring in Economics. He is a Certified Digital Finance Practitioner (CDFP) and also a certified Gender Equality Change-makers (GEC), certified by Digital Frontiers Institute of the Fletcher School, Tufts University and belongs to Digital Frontiers Association (DFA) of Uganda.
